INFORMATION BARRIER FOR SKYPE-FOR-BUSINESS
Control Skype for Business communication with granular information barrier policies that protect sensitive data, enforce compliance, and manage who can communicate internally or externally.
Granular ethical firewall policies for Skype for Business federation
Enabling federation is an important feature for extending communication outside company boundaries. SphereShield has developed a Federation Information Barrier that addresses ethical regulations, compliance, security and data protection issues for Skype for Business federation by establishing granular ethical firewall policies.
SphereShield also offers the ability to use the same functionality internally, applying specific rules between different users or groups.
-
Control federation with specific companies, users and groups.
-
Apply direction-based rules and activity-level policy control.
-
Reduce compliance, privacy and security risks across internal and external communication.
Ethical firewall policy engine
Allowing federation raises several business and security issues that need to be addressed by applying granular policy rules defining permitted operations between communicating parties.
Applying a policy may also be required from a compliance perspective, preventing conflicts of interest that could result in the inappropriate and dangerous release of sensitive corporate information.
Federation itself exposes privacy-sensitive information that a company may not wish to share with all external federated users. This may include availability, mobile phone number and location.
Another common requirement is to conceal executive team availability through presence information or allow federation with a specific company only for selected internal users or groups.
Additional security measures can be achieved by controlling which modalities are permitted in each conversation, including IM, audio, video, conference, desktop sharing and file sharing.
